If the freezer is on the top, then it doesn't need a light, presumably because 1) There should be a light source from somewhere else in the room 2) The manufacturers don't want to waste money on an unnecessary light, and 3) To have lj post questions like these My freezer does have a light in it, mostly because it is on the bottom. Our other freezer does not because it is a full-size freezer, and I can get light from the room light. Interesting question, tho. k for Saturday after breakfast, we had a bunch of pictures taken of everyone, there was lots of hugging and saying goodbye, then the people that were going down on the bus, including me, got on and waved goodbye to the people that were riding down in their cars. on the bus ride, i played Phase 10 with Kandis and Christina (Kandis won), then we got back to fairfield and i finally did my act of kindness to nick (it wasnt very good, but it worked), then i told my dad that i wanted to drive home, and i did have my permit with me, so i drove home. on the way home, i told my dad about how i slept for about 2 and a half hours, and i didn't really want to stop at a rest stop or something like that, so i didn't stop. i also didn't really realize that the drive was more than 2 hours long, half of it on hilly, curvy, 2-lane roads and the other on flat, boring, 75-mph roads, between mountain home and boise. So, in wrap-up, that's how i drove more than 2 hours on 2 and a half hours of sleep. (i also stayed up that night until about 9:45). Ok since most of the exciting stuff happened during the night of Friday and the early morning of Saturday, so i am combining the two. First of all, we got up on Friday morning knowing we had a lot to do that day, including fuzzy raids and a prank, so we had to be thinking throughout the whole day about how to pull the prank off and what to do for fuzzy raids. this was the day that we put up the 22-foot high cross, so that was quite a bit of work. i also had kp during breakfast, and that lasted until about 9:25, and we were supposed to leave at about 9:30 on the trucks with the cut trees to carry them up the hill. so, because i wasn't wearing tennis shoes (the one morining i wasn't!), so i had to hurry back to my cabin and get my tennis shoes on. (on a random note, are trainers the same as tennis shoes in england? jw.) anyways, i got in the truck with the lighter pole, so that was nice. and the pole provided a barrier between my back and the wet mattress. so, we eventually got up to the start of the trail that would take us to the place where we would put up the cross. like i said, we were in the truck with the light pole, so we carried it until the first out of three hilltops, the third being where we put up the cross. the next wave of people was supposed to carry it, but two of the other people from our group did it instead. the pole that was 22 feet high was a less dead tree, so it was a lot heavier and took about all of our strongest males to carry it. anyways, it went up (i helped push) and by the time we got back down to the lodge, it was about 1:30, and we didnt start lunch until about 2, so obviously, we were all very sunburnt and some people had cool looking tan lines from their tank tops and such. during cabin time, we practiced our fuzzy raid (which was pretty awesome, yet kinda cheesy. we made it up, tho. i liked it.) during free time, i played this game where each person had an alka-seltzer tablet tied around their neck, and you had to splash water on them and try to dissolve the other peoples' tablets. it was fun, but it got my clothes really soaked, but i took a shower right after that. after the shower, we sat on the back deck and talked until they told us to go on the front deck and we played the shortest game of "honey i love you" on record. then they told us to go inside, where we sat at different tables than who we usually sat with, and ate finger food on a napkin. it was pretty good, but not as filling as we needed for the full night. after dinner, the talent show started, and that was really good. i didnt have any talent to show, but kandis and a bunch of other people did. after the talent show, we had campfire, which was really really really exciting and got your heart rate pumping really fast, which was a really good thing. when campfire was over, at about 10:30, we went back to our cabins and sat around until 11, which was when we started playing b.s. and eating sugar in the form of reese's pieces (which i brought) until 11:30, which was when the first cabin came in with their fuzzy raids. we had the novel idea of opening the glow stick and splattering it all over the front of the cabin, which we did, but it kinda dissolved on every surface except for the front wall and paper taped on the door. after the last cabin came around and did their fuzzy raid to us, we went around and did our fuzzy raid. after the fuzzy raids were done (at about 1 AM), we met with Goshawk (sneaking through the shadows so we wouldnt get caught), and managed our way over to Lupine, an empty cabin, to do a dance party. it was only supposed to be a girl dance party, but somehow, the boys knew about it, so they tried to sneak up on some girls and try to scare them. it worked a few times, and while our cabin was sneaking over to Lupine, but we while we were on our way, we heard a scream. and we assumed screams meant someone was caught, or that they would wake another authority figure up, so we ran back to the bathrooms and hid until we figured it was safe. we did manage to get to Lupine and start the party, and that lasted until Keri came in and said we were being way too loud and that we were waking the other cabins up (but i didnt really think that since Amy, who was staying in our cabin to keep watch in case some of the boys tried to prank us, said that she couldn't hear us). we decided that we would dance to one more song and then go to bed. we got back to our cabins at about 3 or 3:15 and then set our alarm for 5:30, which was when we would go prank the boys, in the form of putting saran wrap all the way around the cabin with about 5 layers. i probably didnt get to sleep for a while, since i was so high on adrenaline, so i probably got about 2 hours of sleep in that period of the night. later, the alarm rang at 5:30 and we got up and everyone but kandis and amy went to prank the boys. i was the one that had the scissors and the tape, so on one occasion, i went back, sneaking through the shadows and the trees, since where the dean was sleeping was in my way, to get the scissors, went all the way back to Aspen (the cabin we were pranking), and came back, just to have them tell me i was supposed to go back and get the tape. anyways, that took until about 6:10, then we got back and, again, we were high on adrenaline, and we had to get up at 7 for morning watch. i thought that it was kind of ironic that we were about the first whole cabin (or almost all of our cabin was at the lodge, at least) that was at the lodge, since only our cabin and Goshawk cabin did the pranking. unfortunately, the prank didn't work as well as we would hope, because Aspen did make it to morning watch. o well. i guess we should have wedged a stick under the doorknob, but oh well. it was still funny. anyways, that wraps up my longest, by far, post of my life, and probably the most i have ever written in this short amount of time that i have been willing and wanting to write. the next post will include saturday morning and some of the afternoon. should be short. So, now Thursday. In the morning, it was raining, so we couldn't do what we were planning on doing. I had kp during lunch, so by the time we were done with kp, it stopped raining. during free time, i watched flushed away and played foosball. i hadn't seen flushed away before and it was pretty funny. because it was raining that morning, we postponed getting trees to make our 22-foot cross until that night after dinner. getting the trees and moving them to the shop took until about 9:40 and campfire was at 10, then we went to bed. oh, and there were about 65 campers, 9 counselors, and 1 dean, and probably about 20 permanent (during the summer) staff. there were 6 girl cabins and 3 boy cabins, and a few empty cabins. theme: Heiwa o and i knew i would forget something, and i did. The ppl in my cabin were: Lisa, Kandis, Shirin, Amy, Hannah, Dakotah, and our counselor, Breken. So, on wednesday, we had a pretty normal day. but at lunch, we all picked a name of a different camper to perform a random act of kindness to. i got nick. for dinner, we had a bbq. Crystal, my small group leader, picked me for the act of kindness, so she offered to get my dinner for me. that was a good act of kindness, i thought. that night, after dinner, we had a dance. i got a make-over and apparently looked really good, and i was planning on my act of kindness being dancing with nick, but that didnt work. after the dance, we had campfire, then got ready for club sawtooth, where we stay in the lodge and do whatever until 12:30. that was pretty fun, i talked with some ppl and played foosball (i played a lot of foosball), then played apples to apples and did some mad libs, then played texas hold-em and blackjack with kandis' boyfriend and ex-boyfriend. unfortunately, it was cloudy, so we didnt get to see the stars. o well. so, that wraps up wednesday and introduces u to thursday. Tuesday was hike day. and the theme was Be Still. (kind of ironic, i thought) every other year i have been to, hike day was on wednesday. but i think it was better to have it on tuesday, in retrospect. that day, it was pretty cloudy and not very hot. we went up to goat lake, which encompassed a truck ride and a 6 mile each way (i think; the real distance was kind of unknown) hike, which ended up at a really pretty lake that was entirely snowmelt and rain. the previous time i had been there, the whole hillside was covered in snow, so we had fun sledding down (with no sleds). by the time we got back, it was about 2:30. we had dinner and did campfire and everything, then went to bed (being extremely exhausted). so, that is about it for tuesday. i m sure i left something out. i thought it was funny, cuz i was in the slow group, that it took us about 5 hours to get up and 45 minutes to get down. the reason it took us so long getting up is cuz we would go about 100 yards and stop for 20 minutes, then go 200 feet and stop for 45 minutes. it all worked out in the end, tho. so, now on to monday. that day, we got to learn who was in our small groups. i had crystal (a police officer in caldwell) as my leader, as well as nick, zane, phil, hannah, and i cant remember who else. it was fun, tho. after that, i think we played link tag and some other stuff. then lunch was until 1, cabin time from 1-2, free time from 2-5:30, dinner at 5:30, evening program at 7, campfire at 9, and bedtime at 10:30. p.s. gregory was our dean and breken from salt lake city was my counselor. oh and i think i met christina this day, too. she's really nice and i hope she joins livejournal. and she reminds me (kind of eerily) of renata. OK so I just got back from church camp at Camp Sawtooth. I am going to tell about everything i can remember at the moment, so bear with me. But today, i m only gonna talk about sunday. ok so that morning i had about 200 or 300 pages to read of hp7, so i got up relatively early. i read all thru breakfast and most of the morning until around 9 or 9:30, then i had to finish packing. i packed and wasnt able to read until we left to go to fairfield at about 10:30. it takes about 2 or 3 hours to get to fairfield and so i read all the way there. once we got there, my dad bought me lunch (nice daddy!) and i kept reading until around 1. the bus finally came at about 2, so i got on and listened to the rest of the bus talk. once we got to camp, we made our nametags and put the stuff in our cabins (i was in Wapiti). that night, we had a pretty good dinner and pretty much just went to sleep at the normal time (10:30 or 11). all but 2 ppl in my cabin were reading hp7, so i was really annoyed at my mom for not letting me bring it and making me finish it before. o well. so, that pretty much wraps up sunday. As the subject said, I made my first icon in Paint. I've been waiting and trying to make my own icon for a while now. I also made one of dirty Norrington, but I don't yet know if it is uploadable. As I am sure you know, if you are at all familiar/*koff*obsessed*koff* with POTC, Will Turner said this on the island of the savages right before they left. Jack the king was running away from the savages. Anyways, I was so excited, I just had to post an entry.
